Years 1 & 2 - Squirrels, Foxes and Hedgehogs
When the children leave the Foundation Stage after their Reception year they enter Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2).
These classes are taught by Mrs Charnaud, Miss Cooper and Miss Bhugoowan. In May of their final year of this stage (year 2) children are assessed by their teachers in English, Mathematics and Science using National tests/tasks and evidence from throughout the year.
Results are reported to parents with the child's annual record of achievement. Children in Key Stage 1 study the National Curriculum and Religious Education.
Key Stage 1 teach the National Curriculum through specific subject lessons as well as cross curricular links and topic work where suitable. We offer engaging, challenging and practical activities with real contexts where possible to make learning meaningful and memorable. All Key Stage 1 also have outside learning opportunities.
