Weekly Update 17 - w/c 17 March

Reception have had a busy week this week being mathematicians, gardeners, writers, scientists and relay runners.

We have been learning more about plants this week. We have learnt what they need to grow and what the different parts of the plant are and what they do. We have planted some sunflower seeds and put them in our indoor greenhouse and are eagerly awaiting the first signs of a seedling. We have been listening to this song to help us remember the different parts of a plant: Parts of a plant song

In maths, we have continued to explore number bonds to 10 and have been practising writing our number sentences.

In PSHE, we have been looking at the importance of listening. We made the most of the sunny weather and went out onto the field to run obstacle races. The children had to listen very carefully to the instructions to ensure that they knew what to do at each point in the race.

Outside, the children have been enjoying playing in our new sandpit area too.
